Refurbishment

Thanks to its rental financing activity and its expertise in cooperage, MILESIME has a stock of barrels, some of which are being renovated by traditional planing techniques.

When price also means more values !

You have healthy barrels with a lifespan comparable to that of a non-refurbished 1-wine barrel

Technical specifications

  • Renovation process: dismantling of bottoms, planing of staves and bottoms, repair of any defects, steam treatment, heating, reassembly of bottoms, scalding, complete sanding and marking.
  • Triple traceability: Provenance Property – Original cooperage – Renovation cooperage
  • Expected effects: oxygenation restored, original aromatic compounds (methyl-octalactones and vanillin) mostly recovered, woodiness melted and wines softened
  • Our process eliminates the danger of pyrolysis of polyphenols resulting in the production of dimethoxy-phenols (“burnt” odor)
